Parade

In my early twenties, I appreciated Austin for its party scene.  In my mid twenties, I appreciated Austin for its food scene.  In my late twenties I appreciated Austin for its continue economic growth.

At the beginning of the week, my sister sent me a schedule of all free fun events going on around town.  If the events are free and Grace is awake - I'm in!  Yesterday found us, and most of the people in Austin watching the annual "Chuy's Parade" downtown.  We parked at Matt's office building and walked to Congress Avenue (the street that divides downtown from West/East).  We took Grace to her first parade - she was more interested in playing peekaboo with me than watching the hoopla around her but Matt and I enjoyed had a blast.  From the high school marching band to the angry bird balloon, the spectators were having fun.  Except when the storm troopers and the clowns appeared!  They flippin' creeped me out.  I still don't understand why clowns still exist - everyone I talk to says clowns are creepy.  Sorry, clowns, but I hope we do away with you all.  Also, who knew there was a Austin Juggling Society?! - I totally need to be part of them!

Now, I appreciate the memories Austin will help create.
