Rockin Green

Brandon Marshall - you're a stand up fella in my book. 

Marshall is a wide receiver for the Chicago Bears.  And although the Bears played against my beloved NY Giants last night - I was rooting for Marshall.  Earlier this week - Marshall made it known that he was going to wear lime green cleats this week in honor of Mental Health Awareness week.  He was diagnosed with Borderline Personality disorder in 2011.  Good for you, Marshall!  Not that you were diagnosed with Borderline Personality disorder but that you are raising awareness for this cause.

The NFL got wind of this and waved its big fat index finger in the air saying oh no girlfriend - you didn't. 

October is Breast Cancer awareness month -The NFL raises awareness by having all players wear some sort of pink gear.  I love that the NFL does this- as a cancer survivor, I tip my proverbial hat to them for doing this.  But, what they also do is fine a player that wants to wear lime green cleats to raise awareness for another cause.  WHAT!!!!!!!!

In a society where athletes are being busted for drugs, steroids, and even worse,  murder   -- a guy that wants to raise awareness for a good cause is being fined -  I call BS. 

Kudos to you Brandon for sticking to your guns and not letting "the man" get you down.  Thank you for bringing awareness to mental health and for rockin those lime green cleats.
