This post was intended to go out Sunday, but things got busy and then Monday was my dad's surgery. I am happy to announce my dad is home from the hospital already, resting comfortably, or as comfortable as someone could be after an operation. Thank you again for your well wishes and thoughts.

We made a trek out into the frozen tundra Saturday morning - although I may be exaggerating about the temperature - it was a freezing 27 degrees in Austin. That's flippin' cold. Why leave the house?? To see Santa of course. Matt's company was hosting a children's holiday party complete with cookies, hot chocolate, crafts, toys and pictures with Santa. We bundled up and piled into the car to head to meet Santa.
The venue was cutely decorated and there were a bunch of kids running around. Grace still too young to engage in too many activities hopped on the line to meet Santa. She is shy with strangers, especially men, so sitting on a strange man's lap with a fuzzy white beard was not her cup of tea. She actually did better than expected, but still by the end of the 60 seconds, she was about to lose it. It was comical -- The photographer at the event wouldn't let me take pictures with my camera so I wasn't able to capture this moment.
We defrosted indoors for awhile, eating cookies, decorating an ornament and drinking coffee. Each child got a present from the company, Grace got her first doll. Our morning adventure to the North Pole was a blast.
